Summary
The Talent Advisor will play a critical role in recruiting talent to BioMarin and supporting the Talent Acquisition team. This role will have recruiting and administrative responsibilities, with a focus on managing requisitions across the company. The ideal candidate will be adept at full-cycle recruiting, interview coordination, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
Responsibilities
Recruiting (60%)
  • Full-cycle recruiting for individual contributor and management roles across various departments including R&D, Technical Operations, and Corporate functions.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, hiring managers, and HR professionals to understand organizational requirements and align them with the qualifications of prospective candidates.
  • Utilize strategic sourcing techniques to identify and engage top talent.
  • Manage multiple job openings, providing positive candidate experiences and meeting client expectations.
  • Utilize strong communication and collaboration skills for candidate and client management.
  • Ensure compliance with compensation and equity guidelines, legal implications in hiring, and relocation and immigration processes.
Administration (40%)
  • Manage candidate interviews, including creating interview schedules and confirming logistics with candidates and interview teams.
  • Coordinate virtual and onsite interviews, including securing conference rooms and making detailed travel arrangements when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional candidate care through effective follow-up and communication throughout the interview process.
  • Post open positions to appropriate internal and external websites.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing and recruiting within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or IT industries with 1-2 years of high-volume administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing workload across a variety of demands; interview scheduling, sourcing, interviewing and negotiating offers.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Teams, Office 365, MS Outlook, and MS Office Suite, particularly calendaring and spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a customer-service orientation in all dealings.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Life Science, or equivalent work experience.
Skills
  • Self-motivated; able to work proactively and collaboratively with the broader Talent Acquisition team.
  • Ability to source, screen, and interview.
  • Offer negotiation experience.
  • Outstanding client service, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple calendars and organize complicated schedules.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and environments.
  • Strong understanding of compensation and equity guidelines, legal implications in hiring, and relocation and immigration.

In the U.S, the salary range for this position is $ 31 to $ 50 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors. The salary range for this position is: $31 to $50. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
