Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies around the world. Our integrated team continues to solidify BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
BioMarin is the world leader in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We target diseases that lack effective therapies and affect relatively small numbers of patients, many of whom are children. These conditions are often inherited, difficult to diagnose, progressively debilitating, and have few, if any, treatment options. BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind.
This role will work alongsidethe Skeletal Dysplasia Sales team, which focuses on patients living with Achondroplasia.   Achondroplasia is the most common form of human dwarfism and is characterized by failure of normal conversion of cartilage into bone, which results in disproportionate short stature. The Pediatric Specialist is responsible for maximizing prescriptions/referrals within key accounts and institutions throughout geography, representing BioMarin commercialized products in their area. 
They must demonstrate a consultative selling approach and ability to demonstrate credibility and develop trust with multiple layers of decision makers within the HCP offices.  They will need ability to customize and deliver clinical content in a straightforward and actionable way to drive more product adoption at local level.  Accountability throughout all stages of the “find” from lead validation to referral and/or from prescriber to product adoption.  The Pediatric Specialist will also have a role in messaging with HCP’s that have current patients on therapy.
The ideal candidate will have sales experience in pediatrics and/or comparable sales experience. The Pediatric Specialist maintains a high level of knowledge within the disease state and product labeling.  The primary call target is pediatrics and key subspecialties to drive awareness and utilization in targeted patient segments. Targeted pediatricians with ACH patients will be key call points in filling the funnel and activating brand awareness and loyalty.
Activities include disease state and product educationto HCPs.   Must be goal-oriented and accountable for their individual performance, while acting in a professional and compliant manner.  Cold calling on all targeted specialties is a requirement.
The Pediatric Specialist will be responsible for:
Expectations are to adhere to a highly regulated industry, be consistent with training, policies, guidelines, and their own best judgment while adhering to all company policies assigned to the Account Manager position. 
The BioMarin Pediatric Specialist will also act as a Regional Player/Coach and assist in the training, development, and performance of all contracted Ped Specialist in the region to maximize results.  This will include, but not limited to the following:

 The salary range for this position is: $88,000 to $121,000. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
