Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies around the world. Our integrated team continues to solidify BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Job Overview
You will represent BioMarin within the hemophilia community as a trusted partner for individuals and families affected by hemophilia, helping patients navigate and overcome barriers to treatment.   
The Community Education and Field Marketing Manager is responsible for the US Hemophilia market expansion by creating and executing educational initiatives and marketing strategies for patients and caregivers, patient advocates and HCPs.  This field-based role is responsible for lead generation and interacting directly with key stakeholders across the US to gain insights to inform strategic decisions.    The role reports to the ROCTAVIAN BU Marketing Lead and works closely with Key Account Managers and US Brand Team. 
Strong results orientation and a sense of urgency to get things done is critical. This professional will design and implement creative solutions that embraces digital and in-person approaches to education and marketing and is comfortable in an entrepreneurial and growing commercial organization and committed to ethical behavior in every aspect of their duties and in compliance with company policies and within the industry’s legal and regulatory framework.  
Key Responsibilities:
Education & Advocacy 
  • Conduct formal and informal presentations and convey complex branded information fluently to the hemophilia community, in a professional, compliant, ethical and effective manner.   
  • Use digital platforms (social media, webinars, newsletters) to engage the community and share resources 
  • Support advocacy efforts for access to care and cross collaboration with Patient advocacy groups 
Community Outreach and Relationship Building 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the community (patients, caregivers, advocacy groups and healthcare providers) and represent BioMarin at local events 
  • Attend and organize local, regional and national events (conferences, support groups, awareness walks) 
  • Work with HCP and Patient Speakers to facilitate knowledge sharing and promote educational platforms. This includes identifying and training promotional speakers for disease state and product discussions 
Program Development & implementation 
  • Be responsive to the needs of providers and patients, understanding the importance of urgent and timely engagement.  Provide field insights into the creation of new strategies and tactics. Represent the patient’s voice to the home office. Identify new ways to support patients 
  • Speaker Bureau Operations and Content:Managing speaker programs, including coordinating speaker training, ensuring compliant content delivery, and managing reporting on speaker program performance 
  • Create and implement marketing strategies and tactical plans, including patient marketing initiatives, and managing vendor relationships and budgets as appropriate to ensure consistent integrated implementation of strategies and tactics with a high sense of urgency 
Data & feedback collection 
  • Gather insights from the community to inform services, resources and organizational strategies 
  • Review and analyze market/customer data to support and execute strategic planning. 
  • Capture and track Community Leads, qualify and segment, nurture relationships, collaborate with field teams 
Collaboration & Communication 
  • Achieve or exceed Management by Objective (MBO) goals 
  • Partner with Internal teams (medical, marketing) and external stakeholders. Serve as a critical conduitbetween the field and the home office by providing actionable insights and feedback on market dynamics, patient needs, and community engagement opportunities. 
Essential Skills  
  • Demonstrate ability to ask strategic, insightful questions to obtain information on customer needs from all stakeholders, using the insights to position GTx in treatment decision 
  • Utilize CRM to manage and record activities. 
  • Engage with local hemophilia chapters to identify patient and family needs regarding education and accessing therapy. 
  • Work cross-functionally closely with various teams, including medical, data analytics, digital legal and compliance to ensure aligned efforts and provide appropriate support within the field team. 
  • Foster team effectiveness and accomplishment of shared goals by sharing knowledge, experience, and information between and amongst partners 
  • Experience with grassroots organizing, advocacy campaigns, or peer-lead initiatives 
  • Ensure compliance with BioMarin policies 
Qualifications/Requirements 
  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree in business or science preferred.  
  • 5 years experience in community engagement, field sales and product marketing, patient advocacy or medical/clinical roles within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.  Experience with engaging patients and caregivers with rare/chronic conditions 
  • A strong understanding of hemophilia, its treatments, and the needs of patients and healthcare providers is essential. 
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively  
  • Strategic thinking and planning:Developing and executing marketing strategies and plans to achieve brand goals. 
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office presentation, facilitation skills, social media, and virtual event tools (Microsoft Teams) 
  • Ability to managing multiple projects, timelines, and budgets effectively. 
  • Compliance:Solid understanding of relevant legal and regulatory guardrails within the pharmaceutical industry and ability to conduct all interactions and initiatives in compliance with those guardrails. 
  • Willingness and ability to work within and outside of traditional business hours. Many Patient engagement events take place on evenings and weekends.  The ability to travel 75% 
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Language requirements: Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred

The salary range for this position is: $104,000 to $143,000. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
