About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations groupis responsible forcreating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians,scientistsand support staff build and maintain BioMarin’scutting-edgemanufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, andprocurethe needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
SUMMARY:
The BioMarin Summer Internship Program will enable students to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the processes and systems within BioMarin, while gaining an insight into the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.Over the course of 10 -12 weeksour interns gain industry experience while working alongside our talented team on meaningful projects.
The intern will work with the Stability group within Product Quality Controls & Performance Systems. The stability groupis responsible fordesigning studies and analyzing data to support the storage and shipping conditions for all BioMarin products.An important componentofthis responsibility is to define allowable temperature excursions which may occur during storage and/or shipment of products.Both the minimum/maximum temperature ranges and the maximum duration must be defined by the stability group.
JOB DESCRIPTION/PROJECT:
The Stability Data Intern will play a key role in supporting BioMarin’s global supply chain operations by compiling and organizing available stability data for all BioMarin products (clinical and commercial). This data will beconsolidatedinto a central summary document that enables quick reference for allowable temperature excursions during shipping. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of data, helpingmaintaincompliance throughout the distribution process.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and review stability data for BioMarin products from internal sources.
  • Compile allowable temperature excursion information into a structured summary document.
  • Identifyany potential gaps which need to be addressed.
  • Maintain organized records for compiled data.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiencyin MicrosoftExcel and Word for data compilation and document creation.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
Desired Skills:
  • Awareness of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Basic understanding of stability studies and temperature excursion concepts
Qualifications/Eligibility:
  • Student pursuing aBachelor’sdegree in Life Sciences, PharmaceuticalSciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
  • Must be available to workfull time,40 hoursa week. 
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. based university or college and enrolled in the fall term after the completion of the internship OR have graduated within 1 year of the start of the program.  
  • Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship for on-site, hybrid roles.Some positions will be open to remote interns, but employee must be within United States borders.

In the U.S., the salary range for this position is$24to $27per hour, which factors in various geographic regions.The base payactually offeredwilltake into accountinternal equityand alsomay vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
