SUMMARY
This key role in the ROCTAVIAN Business Unit is focused on driving post-launch commercialization efforts for our innovative and life-changing hemophilia A gene therapy, approved in Europe and the US.
The Director Marketing – ROCTAVIAN (US+Global) is responsible for the development and execution of innovative marketing solutions that increase market share and sales growth through targeted customer acquisition and demand generation activities across key customer segments.  This role requires strategic, tactical, operational, analytical, problem solving, communications, and project management skills. Strong results orientation and a sense of urgency to get things done are critical. This professional is a disciplined and data-driven risk-taker that embraces innovative approaches, and is comfortable in an entrepreneurial and dynamic commercial organization.
The ideal candidate will already have hemophilia experience, including a strong understanding of and respect for the empowered patient community, patient advocates and dedicated health care providers.  The individual will have ability to be dynamic across responsibilities which will include digital execution and analytics, sales team interaction, KOL engagement, and brand/business analytics. Direct US marketing experience is preferred. This role will report into the ROCTAVIAN Business Unit Marketing Lead.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work cross-functionally (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Digital Strategy, Patient Affairs, Strategic Insights) to develop and implement innovative customer solutions for US market.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to marketing plans.  
  • Collaboratively engage with global and local community stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups and patients to ensure integration of their perspectives into all plans. 
  • Plan, execute, and monitor impact of US patient and HCP marketing plans and campaigns across various channels (digital, print, social media).  Monitor and analyze campaign performance to optimize results and achieve sales targets 
    • Development and execution of digital/social media plan  
    • Patient/HCP Website development and maintenance 
  • Leads customer facing programs and tactics including: US congress plan and presence, ad boards, educational tactics, and promotional sponsorships 
  • External agency management of key deliverables and budgets.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of materials; Lead discussion and core materials through the internal review and approval process
  • Support the development of the strategic business plan and drive annual brand planning/tactical plan for US
  • Operate quickly and decisively in a fast-paced, demanding launch environment
  • Travel ~35% to support above responsibilities
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • 8+ years of professional marketing experience (US) in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, including competitive market experience and 4+years Digital Marketing. BA/BS in Business, Data Sciences or Life Sciences (MBA preferred)
  • Field Sales, rare disease preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and contingency planning skills
  • Strong sense of accountability and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a high-functioning, cross-functional team 
  • Experience managing multiple external agencies, project budgets and timelines 
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and Word 
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical products
  • Self-starter who demonstrates energy and enthusiasm, bringing a positive solution-oriented approach to challenges  
  • Confident and influential presenter
  • A passion for improving patient and business outcomes

In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $ 184,000 to $ 276,000 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A discretionary bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
