SUMMARY

The Senior Director, FP&A will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, strategic planning, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) within the international commercial organization. This role requires a strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a global team environment. Located in São Paulo, Brazil, this individual will be the primary FP&A partner to the Head of International, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Financial Strategy and Oversight: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the commercial goals of BioMarin in the international market. Ensure alignment with the overall corporate strategy.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting activities. Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to optimize resources.
  • Financial Management Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders.
  • FP&A: Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support business decisions. Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic planning to drive business performance.
  • Accounting Interaction: Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Business Partnership: Develop strong relationships with business leaders to provide financial insights and support decision making. Act as a trusted advisor to drive strategic initiatives and improve business performance.
  • Decision Support: Provide financial expertise and analytical support for key business decisions. Ensure that financial considerations are integrated into business planning and strategy.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Provide mentorship, develop talent, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably within the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development. Experience in international markets is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and drive change within a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English and Portuguese is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • High level of integrity, with a strong commitment to ethical standards and compliance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
