Our Culture
Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies around the world. Our integrated team continues to solidify BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
- Lead the marketing function and commercialization efforts for the Business Unit (global and strategic markets accountability), for the immediate and long-term commercial growth and sustainability; with an emphasis on near term market penetration.
- Lead forum for brand strategy development, content co-creation, evaluating metrics and managing brand performance and facilitating best practice sharing
- Identify and monitor select brand metrics including but not limited to market share, promotional ROI/effectiveness, customer and segment penetration, and channel effectiveness.
- Create, optimize and align content plan and channel strategy and Global Media plan to support HCP and patient engagement across strategic markets, in partnership with Digital Strategy team
- Foster performance driven culture in marketing team
- Champion for the brand across commercial and the broader organization
- Represents Commercial as required in Executive presentations, governance committees and in development of IR narrative.
- Ability to identify and drive LCM opportunities across organization; as aligned to organizational goals
- Develop and implement innovative marketing solutions that target key customer segments and drive sales growth across strategic markets, with emphasis on US.
- Direct partnering/engagement with selling team and patient support team to ensure rapid transition of leads
- Collaboratively engage with global and local community stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups and patients to ensure integration of their perspectives into all plans.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to marketing plans.
- Plan, execute, and oversee marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, print, social media). Monitor and analyze campaign performance to optimize results and achieve sales targets.
- Manage, coach and support career growth of direct reports and teams.
- Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to high-impact activities.
- Track and report on marketing spend and ROI.
- 15+ years of professional marketing experience (US and global) in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals and a BA/BS in Business or Life Sciences (MBA preferred); rare disease experience preferred.
- Competitive market experience required; experience in market access/sales a plus
- Strong sense of accountability and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment
- Operates quickly and decisively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Track record of leadership success interacting at all levels of a matrix organizations cross-functionally and cross-geography
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of effectiveness and collaboration as a team player and result-oriented project leader able to develop strong professional relationships with stakeholders and manage conflict
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills

- Ability to travel 35% of time (domestic and international)

In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $ 223,000 to $ 334,400 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A discretionary bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
