About Commercial
Our Commercial organization leads our global sales and marketing strategies around the world. Our integrated team continues to solidify BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as Latin America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
This is a new role within an evolved organization operating model. The individual will be a key member of the leadership team for the newly created Skeletal Conditions Business Unit, which oversees and is responsible for the entire Skeletal Conditions portfolio globally within BioMarin. Reporting to the Head of Skeletal Conditions Business Unit, Senior Vice President, the Head of Marketing, Skeletal Conditions BU is accountable for creating the integrated commercial strategy for Skeletal Conditions products, leading the global commercialization and ongoing launch efforts for achondroplasia with the intent of maximizing market and lifecycle opportunities, including new indications and formulations. This individual will utilize their industry experience to make sound business decisions to ensure that all key commercial opportunities across the brand are identified and acted upon.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Marketing team for Skeletal Conditions BU, instilling a high sense of accountability and performance within the team while role modeling a growth mindset
- Lead the collaboration between the Skeletal Conditions BU Marketing and in-country Marketing ensuring strategic alignment that can support and address market opportunities and challenges
- Collaborate with key cross-functional partners such as Medical Affairs, Value, Access and Strategic Pricing, Worldwide R&D and Pipeline & Portfolio Strategy to develop a cohesive, insights-driven brand strategy and meeting the needs of BioMarin’s strategic markets, balancing both near-term and long- term priorities
- Deliver & ensure consistent branding, positioning, and messaging platforms across markets
- Effectively partner with Supply Chain to ensure supply planning and readiness
- Develop, track, assess and align organization around key brand performance metrics
- Demonstrate strong external focus by active engagement with key stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders and Patient Advocacy Groups
- Develop brand specific investor relations messaging
- Leverage knowledge of the current and future market to provide insights for forecasting, strategic and corporate planning
- Active contributor and member of Skeletal Conditions BU leadership team
- Attract, develop, and retain high performing talent, both within the BU marketing team and across the greater skeletal conditions business unit and enterprise.
- Build vibrant team culture and shape next generation of BioMarin leaders
- BA/BS in Business or Life Sciences (MBA preferred)
- 15+ years of professional marketing experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals
- Strong track record of successful commercial leadership in both country (major country) and Globalroles with demonstrated ability working with in-country partners
- In-line marketing experience with senior brand responsibility and people management in dynamic and innovative therapeutic areas
- Working knowledge and understanding of multiple major pharmaceutical markets
- Strong understanding of market access and medical strategy
- Experience planning and executing at least one global product launch
- Experience in competitive therapeutic areas and markets
- Must to have a proven track record of leadership success interacting at all levels of a matrix organizations cross-functionally and cross-geography in a collaborative manner
- The ability to lead and role model strong leadership not only for the areas they are directly responsible for, but the enterprise as a whole
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, ability to master complexity and integrate insights into strategies and actions
- Strong communication skills, ability to work with senior leaders
- Strong sense of accountability and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment

In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $ 276,000 to $ 414,000 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A discretionary bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
