Associate Director, Supply Planning
Location Cork, Ireland Workstyle Hybrid ApplyBioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. - Lead, develop and support the execution of global end-to-end planning initiatives and projects
- Lead the supply planning team through the implementation of new ERP system and the resultant role changes required by supply planners
- Lead/support the execution of tactical and strategic goals & projects
- Apply experience in implementing world class inventory control methodologies
- Drive and implement supply planning best practices to meet current and future business needs
- Responsible for all the deliverables associated with assigned initiatives, in conjunction with other assigned core team members
- Design and facilitate change management plans for impacted functions where applicable
- Work with subject matter expects and stakeholders to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support S&OP, rough cut, capacity, scenario & inventory planning
- Support the development and reporting of performance metrics, root cause analysis, and executive updates, driving actions as required
- Evaluate and operate integrated Supply Chain systems (e.g. ERP, APS) against business requirements and become an Key User / SME for these systems.
- Work with business partners to implement optimal planning practices and behaviors
- Recognized as global supply planning technical expert
- Serve as functional expert in supply planning solution design and implementation
- Provide technical Planning leadership and mentorship to the Global Supply Planning team
- Positively challenge and influence peers and senior management to deliver timely results and optimization of E2E supply chain
- Effective leadership of cross-functional teams
- Tactical and strategic contribution to the Global Supply Planning team
- Lead and/or support global supply planning initiatives
- Technical leadership and mentorship
- Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree is preferred
- APICS certification (CPIM, CRIM, CSCP) preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required
- Operational Excellence, Lean Process development, Six Sigma tools and techniques are desirable
- Experience with ERP systems required, Oracle/SAP experience is preferred
- Minimum 13 years progressive global supply chain experience with recent experience in supply network planning.
- Proven record of strong people management required with a bias toward talent development and growth
- Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in leading, developing and coaching teams.
- 10 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing organization, biotech preferred
- Strong background working with supply chain systems, processes and tools.
- Experience working with advanced planning systems (APS) and optimization tools
- Working knowledge of current GxP regulations
- Successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in leading medium to large planning related projects
- Demonstrated ability to partner with peers, senior management and other functional groups to achieve business objectives required
- Ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing work environment - ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives
- Superior communication skills – oral, written and formal presentation skills with senior management, middle management and line staff
- Strong relationship building skills – collaborates effectively with others
