Job Summary
Senior Manager/ Associate Director for Hemophilia Business Unit, Commercial Learning and Development
  • To develop materials and deliver training programs to help colleagues meet business objectives
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Field colleagues, Patient Advocacy, Compliance and others to assure that created programs and materials will deliver the appropriate message to the identified customer bases
  • Collaborate with Hemophilia product marketing team to understand product strategies and implement plans for execution within the Field Teams
  • Launch preparation- work on the development of workshops, materials, etc. for successful launch readiness
  • Support and develop training initiatives with Sales/and appropriate targeted audiences to be launched in the field (e.g. POA meetings, etc.)

New Hire Learning & Development:

  • Design, develop, and deliver training including the creation of training materials for new Hemophilia colleagues
  • Create the phases of training including onboarding to meet the needs
  • Plan and execute in-house Phase 2 training and workshops at identified meeting
  • Develop new hire training roadmaps to reflect current needs of the product messaging for all audiences
  • Facilitate workshops in a clear and interactive manner including the use of technology
  • Evaluate new hire curriculum for continuous improvement for the assigned product portfolio
  • Work with the Field Leadership to ensure new hire readiness
  • Spend time in the field working with new hires and learning the customer landscape

Tenured Field Learning & Development:

  • Evaluate training needs annually or as needed
  • In collaboration with management, help provide coaching and pull-through of training initiatives (where appropriate)
  • Consult with Management and Marketing on needs of the field
  • Facilitate the learning process via workshops, webinars, conference calls, one-on-one coaching sessions, and written communications to ensure field personnel are competent in the areas of product knowledge, compliance, sales presentation skills, customer service, and communicating the value of BioMarin products.
  • Plan, develop and conduct workshops at regional meetings and national meetings in collaboration with BioMarin Commercial Leadership
  • Participate in curriculum design and workshop development for advanced training
  • Work with cross-functional teams to set objectives for continuous improvement of sales force effectiveness; message delivery, knowledge, sales skills, etc.

Additional Duties:

  • Lead the development of training materials for new indications, new products, competitors, etc.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of training needs with the field force, marketing, and medical
  • Liaison with vendors, internal and external partners and provide appropriate training management where necessary
  • Provide on-going training on new policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Serve as training lead at meetings when Senior Director is not available
  • Bachelor’s degree required; science background a plus
  • Experience in Hemophilia a plus
  • 5 years’ or more in Learning and Development preferred
  • Leader trained or certified in skills development a plus
