Intern - GxP Compliance


BioMarin is the world leader in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We target diseases that lack effective therapies and affect relatively small numbers of patients, many of whom are children. These conditions are often inherited, difficult to diagnose, progressively debilitating and have few, if any, treatment options. BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind. 


The BioMarin Summer Internship Program will enable students to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the processes and systems within BioMarin, while gaining an insight into the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

The GxP Inspection Management team is responsible for developing, modifying, and executing company policies and procedures related to the preparation, execution, and response to GxP Health Authority inspections.



  • Support the creation/revision, review & approval cycles of new/existing Inspection Management documents.
  • Update playbooks as part of inspection readiness for BioMarin’s regional offices.
  • Re-organize Inspection Management SharePoint folders to follow a certain logic and document this logic in a guidance document.
  • Assist with the logistical planning, preparation and execution of regulatory authority inspections as they arise.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new project and ideas

Desired Skills:

  • High-Level understanding of the overall concept of a Biopharmaceutical Regulated Industry


  • Enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit
  • Student must be returning to school in the Fall Term OR has graduated within the 1 year of the start of the program.
  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours a week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship.
  • Able to work remotely within United States
