Associate Director, Hematology Commercial Learning and Development

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

As a trusted advisor and program lead, you will play a critical role in partnering and collaborating with Sales Leadership, Brand, Compliance, Market Access, Medical and others to translate key sales and business strategies into training programs and resources aimed at driving sales effectiveness, productivity and consistency across the team.

As the Commercial Learning and Development Hemophilia Lead you will:

  • Provide strategic planning, leadership, and direction as it relates to the complex learning needs of a diverse multi-functional Commercial field team.
  •  As a subject matter expert in the Hemophilia space, you will work closely with Sales and Marketing leadership to ensure field teams are enabled to meet all commercial pre-launch and launch objectives for ROCTAVIAN.
  • Be accountable for the evaluation, planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive training plan, which includes new hires, existing Account Managers (AM), Therapy Account Managers (TAM), and Sales Leadership.
  • Identify training needs, assess current capabilities of both training programs and AMs, conduct current training GAP analysis, and benchmarking to provide solutions and guidance.
  • Understand the total office selling process across all different types of staff and stakeholders and can model “what good looks like”
  • Design and deliver training resources and workshops that enables translation of Marketing Strategy into field execution.
  • Have experience with customer management platforms – demonstrated ability to use the system, pull data from the system and analyze for business and training insight
  • Own the entire field effectiveness process from identifying gaps between field execution and strategy, and to design, develop and implement of solutions.
  • Train on disease and product
  • Be responsible for budget management
  • Comply with Compliance guidelines and requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

List the major responsibilities of the job.

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of training materials where appropriate
  • Subject Matter Expert in Hemophilia
  • Project manage activities, and timelines
  • Facilitate training on product, disease and other skill development as needed
  • Handle ad hoc training requests from customers
  • Work side by side and cross functionally with other CLD Brand Leads
  • Evaluate curriculum for continuous improvement for BioMarin Commercial working closely with Leadership
  • Facilitate the learning process via workshops, webinars, conference calls, 1:1 meetings and written communications
  • Work with cross-functional teams to set objectives for continuous improvement of effectiveness; message delivery, knowledge and skill building, etc.
  • Liaise with vendors, internal and external partners and provide appropriate training management where necessary
  • Provide on-going training on policies and procedures, as needed
  • Collaborate with all team members and partners
  • Handle additional projects as necessary

 EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10+ years of progressive biotech experience and ability to develop the competencies required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
  • Experience in the Hemophilia/Hematology field necessary
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience in biotech sales training (Hemophilia/Hematology necessary)
  • Training certifications a plus
