DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for the application operations, governance, and maintenance of the following Veeva applications: eTMF, Events, and PromoMats.
This individual is responsible for driving technology direction through deep understanding of business requirements and desired business outcomes across commercial and clinical Veeva applications.
The role contributes to the planning and implementation of technology strategy in partnership with IT and business functions. Understands current and future technology needs and translates business needs into the functional roadmap to support growth, operational efficiency, and extraordinary customer experience. This includes alignment with IT strategy to extend the use of existing strategic platforms such as Veeva.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- In partnership with the business and IT functions, define and maintain application operations, governance, and maintenance of the following Veeva applications: eTMF, Events, and PromoMats. (The Veeva Commercial and Clinical application set may grow over time.)
- Align business and technology strategy to drive cross-functional connections between document, data, and business processes within the Veeva Platform
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify business challenges and formulate solutions
- Oversee and facilitate application-level steering committees with business partners to provide application governance including prioritization of enhancement requests.
- Manage annual budget, financial forecast, and Total Cost of ownership for relevant Veeva applications
- Collaborate with the Customer Facing IT Team to maintain and improve best practices and standardize processes across all IT resources supporting the Veeva Platform. Partner with IT functions to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement across the Veeva Platform.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency through innovation and automation
- Lead continuous improvement efforts assessing current use and intended use of the Veeva applications
- Responsible for maintaining system under change control and associated documentation supporting the validated state of the applications.
- Oversight of managed services resources to ensure that application configuration meets business requirements and is consistent with IT standards
- Partner with Veeva to define additionalopportunities at BioMarin and drive business process opportunities onto the platform, further enabling the Enterprise Veeva Platform model.
- Application Lifecycle Management – Develop and support a fully aligned and business-approved release management cycleincorporatingRelease impact assessments.
SKILLS
- Strong leadership skills in application management, relationship management, project definition and delivery.
- Capable of assessing end-to-end business processes to provide effective global solutions.
- Excellent communication and team building skills with an ability to balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to build strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated skills in resource organization, project/task prioritization and
- schedule development.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
- Understanding of computer system validation practices and principles
- Understanding of the CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 regulations for computer systems.
- Strong Presentation Skills

- Expertise with the following Veeva applications: eTMF, Events, and PromoMats
EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years overall professional job experience.
- 5+ years of successful IT experience in full lifecycle system development (design, configuration, implementation, validation, and support) of Veeva Vault Applications such as eTMF, Events, and PromoMats
- 5+ years of experience with supporting compliant, commercial content and digital asset management, preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Technology, or related field
- Veeva Vault certified administrator preferred
- Veeva CRM certified administrator (or equivalent Salesforce experience) preferred
In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $129,900 to $194,900 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A discretionary bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. This position can be local-hybrid or fully remote.
